I really loved the story of Patricia Highsmith in the book, who was just such an interesting character. She kept hundreds of pet snails and sometimes took them to dinner in her handbag. I think that we have some sort of woman or women and man divide that I also see in the reactions to the book. A lot of male reviews of the book will write long reviews not criticising the book but they're keeping it at a distance. And then there are women who are usually like, oh my god, that's brilliant.
