We see solar punk as a visionary, utopian politics and aesthetic that critically engages the reality of capitalist catastrophe while maintaining a radical optimism about humanity's hopes for a communal ecological future. I think it provided aa useful way of synthesizing several currents that we had already been thinking about and involved in between new media and social practice.
