The book was almost called Why I'm No Longer Talking to People About Climate Change. But the language of taking climate change seriously could point to such radically different things now that it was in danger of obscuring the choices that lie ahead of us. The big path is attempting to secure the extension of existing trajectories of progress, growth development in a world where the climate is changing through more and more desperate measures. And we see the geoengineering plans being deployed to keep out people from other parts of the world who are being displaced by changing patterns of rain and heat.
