What Is of Value as a Collectible?

i think we've assigned too much value to scarcity. People look for something to be scarce in order to assign value to it, and i think that's very new within my lifetime. It comes back to the realization that some things are abundant, and can be conjured into thin air and made from whole cloth. So i think there has been, in the zitgis this desire to try and find things that are scarce because there's a realization that scarcity has value to some degree or another.
