The Consequences of Moving to Larger Constituencies
I suspect to some extent there's a great deal of caution. I think it'd be a much better thing to step back and say, well, why don't we go back to the nine seat constituencies that we used to have. Bigger constituencies within our electoral system give more proportional outcomes. There are also quite a likely outcome where there were a number of small parties in the early days of the state, which then disappeared. We have a more very agated political landscape now.
