Allstate, Geico, and Geico Using Claim IQ?
The New York State Department of Insurance found no systemic underpayment of bodily injury claims. Allstate will notify claimants that it may use the software in adjusting their claims. Geico admitted using a computer rather than a human to recommend damages for one woman's pain and suffering. Using computers to some extent may be necessary, but relying on them for such personal situations can lead to these types of issues.
