How to Get the Most Out of Your Dividends
Eric Johnson: I go through an ex-dividend calendar and see what stocks are coming up in the next few weeks. Generally, I'm looking for like one and a half percent or higher on an annualized dividend payout. If they pass both of those screens, then I put them on my watch list. And then I run the numbers to see, can I get that 24% annualized return by going deep enough in the money? One of the things that I found is that there are a lot of stocks out there that pay incredible dividends, but they're just terrible stocks.
