When Jesus began his prayer, the John 17 High Priestly Prayer, he knew how he would end the prayer. He didn't mean know like the devil knows God or knowlike the devil knows Jesus. Because that kind of knowing is death, it's death and it's not life. The ground of the universe, the life from which all else springs is the knowing and loving God. We know him experientially as he knows us.
