How to Get Better at Painting

John Solomonin: If someone came to you and said, I want to get really good at painting, what advice do you give them? Paint more. Picasso said, when inspiration arrives, it better find you working. Just go in the studio and double your output if you're in the doldrums because that's where the magic happens. It's not you waiting around to have your muse speak to you. This is what we see in movies about how artists arrive at inspiration. That's just bunk. Your inspiration comes from what you are doing currently in the studio. And that's where they all happen.
