The History of Socialism Leading Up to Marx

This is one of the really philosophically interesting Marx's texts, where Engels does the work of juxtaposing Marxism with a lot of other philosophical schools and social scientific developments at the time. And so what Engels is trying to do in this text really is get at what it is that makes the Marxist approach to materialism different than everything that's come before it. This first part of the entire show is going to be an explanation of those basic arguments and ideas and themes going kind of chapter by chapter. Then as Allison said, we'll dive into it, we'll criticize it, we will analyze it and we'll apply it.
