In a free market like ours, where the money is free to flow, you would kind of need some top down government regulation about not allowing corporations and rich people to manipulate the system unfairly. Even democratic systems gravitate toward oligarchy in a sense that within any structure, you will always have people looking for ways to capture the system. It doesn't matter how good the constitution is, how well it was thought out by berlin people. It can be corrupted. So we are not saying that capitalism in 20 first century america is the best that it can be,. or that democacy is the best it can be.

Is it true that the world’s rapidly growing population is consuming the planet’s natural resources at an alarming rate that would require two Earths to satisfy the demand for natural resources by 2030? Marian Tupy and Gale Pooley found that resources became more abundant as the population grew. They also found that resource abundance increased faster than the population. On average, every additional human being created more value than he or she consumed.

He has taught economics and statistics at Alfaisal Univerity in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Brigham Young University-Idaho; Boise State University; and the College of Idaho. Pooley has held professional designations from the Appraisal Institute, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the CCIM Institute. He has published articles in National Review, HumanProgress.org, The American Spectator, the Foundation for Economic Education, the Utah Bar Journal, the Appraisal Journal, Quillette, Forbes, and RealClearMarkets. His major research activity has been the Simon Abundance Index, which he coauthored with Marian Tupy.
