In a free market like ours, where the money is free to flow, you would kind of need some top down government regulation about not allowing corporations and rich people to manipulate the system unfairly. Even democratic systems gravitate toward oligarchy in a sense that within any structure, you will always have people looking for ways to capture the system. It doesn't matter how good the constitution is, how well it was thought out by berlin people. It can be corrupted. So we are not saying that capitalism in 20 first century america is the best that it can be,. or that democacy is the best it can be.
