My parents had no idea what the needs of a child were and from their perspective, the world was very black and white. Their theory was, we'll just let this baby cry. As my brother aged, obviously he had attachment issues, abandonment issues, which made him feel insecure and vulnerable. And even as a man today in his 50s, my brother can still be highly reactive. I could see in his eyes that he was developing anger towards me and I was powerless to change it."
