The Importance of Having a Backup Plan

I'm actually a really bad long term stock investor. Like for my 401k, I've done a poor job at it because I think I can time the market accurately on a long term basis and I've been proven to be wrong. It's so important for every trader to have a backup plan as to where you put your profits. Let them grow on the side, you know, outside of the market. Without a doubt, when you're early in your career, you have no choice but to grow your account.
