The Benefits of Double Circles for AFib Prevention

The idea of double circles around the veins would A, reduce leaks or recurrent PV connection, and B, it might extend the area ablated in the left atrium. The trial randomized about 200 patients to a standard single circle PBI or to the augmented double circle. And boom, no difference in freedom from AFib. It didn't matter. No subgroup did better. This is exactly how we should be doing things in medicine. Things that make sense like extending circles, making little bit more lesions, don't always work.
