The Scope of Programming Languages Has Definitely Gotten Smaller

The scope of programming languages has definitely gotten smaller since, I mean, if you start with a small talk as a starting point. Even though it's normal to have in every programming language, to have some sort of way to do like unit tests or package management. It's weird to me that most languages that are created today, the scope is still, well, I'm just going to have the language do this and then it's going to be up to the ecosystem to do those things.
