Chang'e Rans: A Novelist's Guide to Success

Zhang Yue Rans is in that group of people known as the Barling Ho or post 80s writers. Her early work is very simple driven like Jeanette Winterson who was a big influence in her. She draws from element fable and fairy tale. The more recent short stories are much more subtle. They go more into psychological depth. In cocoon there are stretches where most of the action is internal, she's no longer quite relying on the big melodramatic events. So that's who Chang'e Rans was and is and I have no doubt that she will continue to evolve as a writer.
