How to Model the Dendridic Structure in Deep Learning Systems?
In a deep learning system, the basic idea of what a neuron does is it takes a very simple function of the input and computes a very simple output. But if you look at the biology, real norons are nothing like that. They have really complicated dendridic structures. And we think the non linear processing that goes on in the zendries and nurons is actually critical to how we learn new things without forgetting stuff. That's an example of some functionality which could be improved by incorporating these properties.
