But often not as much as you'd think, because the sources often aren't independent of each other. Contacts would tell more vivid stories as time went along, which is what they need to do in order to attract attention. Hooking into the existing u f o concensus and then modifying it so that your story is more exciting and more authoritative sounding is good for business.
