I was surprised that you'd written it 11 years ago, given all the ras going on a back campus education program and racism now. The next election in America is going to be fought on those grounds. And critical whiteness studies is the manifestation of that modern colonization. I'm really interested in the discussion that says, to see what was done to us to discuss our history in those terms creates fatigue, an exhaustion. What's the cost of forgetting? I don't ever want to forget. It's not a matter of forgetting and forgiving. I've learned, my mother taught me, to hate the sin, but not the sinner. I don't want to forget the sin.
