When we built the refugee memorial in cambra, it took about five years. It was a seven or eight people who worked on it that whole time. I wanted australia to see what 350 lives looked like,. because if they'd died in a jumbo jet crash, that would have been a big deal. But i anonymous refugees in a boat sailing to australia, was not much news after a couple of days. Andi wasn't going to let that go by. So when we had to fight the government over building this memorial, i said, i don't care. You knowshn we all got demoralized. Doesn't even matter if we fail miserably
