The Decline of Social Capital in Australia
Since the 1970s approximately we've seen a decline. Australians have half as many friends as we had in the mid 1980s. Compared to the 1950s Australians are only about a third as likely to attend church. More people on the Melbourne Cricket Club waiting list than all the Australian political parties combined. There's an increased chair of people who would rather scroll obscenities across the ballot paper than participate in the democratic process, which I find pretty sad as a politician.
