The Toxin in Music

The novelist hruki maracame writes about a toxsin that is buried deep in every anpsyche, and it's unearthed in the process of telling a story or making any piece of art. Unless you have a mechanism in place to process and purge that toxin, the pro of creating something will poison you slowly. For me, as a conductor, a solid 50 % of my work is prep ration of of learning the score and coming to understand it. And i think that's the hard part that people don't want to do when they try to participate in the arts. People are resistant to classical music, for example, because it reaches deep into something.
