Was It a Deliberate Thing to Shut Down Discussions About Freud in the Soviet Union?

There had been a debate about freud in the soviet union in the 19 thirties, under stalin. The official party line had been that psychoanalysis was bourgeois and wrong. It would be interesting to know if malzedong's theories were always sudjusted more general in a western thought. And did he ever have private conversations with colleagues? Did he talk to students? I think we need to imagine that there's a lot more going on in the intellectual life of china in the period when malzedong was alive.
