How to Manage a Drowning Patient

Drowning is the process of experiencing any degree of respiratory impairment following a submersion or immersion in liquid. Drownings can actually be both fatal and non-fatal. Some specific terms that we should not be using include near drowning, delayed drowning, wet drowning or dry drowning. There's a tri-modal distribution to patients who have drownings in Canada.
