The Euphemism for Slow Films
The Smallness Board in Skiffle Scuffle says Evan. When watching a film with my own mother, oftentimes, if it's slow, she'll say, is this based on a true story? They can often be slow. My girlfriend and I now use this phrase whenever a film is slow in any way - even when we know it's not based on atrue story. The thing about the euphemism for films, I think it sort of began with Ken Russell's autobiography,. which is called a British picture because his mother used to say, is it really boring?
