Critical Race Theory - The Critical Legal Studies Movement

critical race theory rejects the prevailing orthodoxy that scholarship should or could be neutral and objective. We believe that legal scholarship about race in America can never be written from a distance of detachment, god's eye view, from nowhere. To use a phrase from the exitentialist tradition, there is no exit, no scholarly perch outside of the social dynamics of racial power. So critical racery emerges out of the critical legal studies movement by putting race into the equation.
