Research conducted by scientists at lowborough university, shows that that boost may be more psychological than related to energy availability. In other words, drinking the breakfast slop did not improve performance because it provided more energy, but simply because it helped them feel more satiated. And this isn't all that surprising when you consider how few calories you burn with strength training.
