What's the Economic Story of the Seventies?
Inflation reached 25 or 26% in 19 74, 75 at time of very low unemployment. We then had industrial strife, and compounded the inflation we were getting from abroadith domestic inflation,. And so we were worse than any other advanced country. Let's be absolutely clear, no, we are not in that position now, but we do face the same forces. The fed now says that the period of the great inflation starts in january 19 65. But we're not in the seventies now.
