The Blessings of a Dog

The beast stood up on its hind legs and let out a low growl that echoed across the field. Other than fear, the only sensation that hit mark was th stench of rotting meat. And without making a sound, mark started stepping backwards. Within an instant, the beast turned and ran off into the trees and was gone. He never saw it again. But the terrifying growl and the way that it seemed to try to communicate with him stuck in his mind for years to come. Very scary.
