Do You Remember?

Doris and ethna amused themselves hitting notes on the piano at random. Mary had gone ba to the room, downcast, wearily. She pushed the chairs against the wall and swept the linoleum floor where they were to dance. Doris thought some lad would be here. Do you remember that lad who stayed here the summer before last and had a motorcycle? He was a jew,. doris said, as if that explained everything. God, she'd shake him in that dress.
