I Think It Was a Sensible Thing for Us to Do Afterwards
e u expansion was a very sensible thing for us to do after wards, as actualy very strongly a british policy. We wanted to secure them and their societies as democracies in the european family. Now, of course, that the further east it went, and particularly when it went to ukraine with integrated economic relationship with russia, that became more contentious. Nato is a defensive military alliance but i think president pewton sees it as more offensive through his lens. I don't think it was wrong to expand nato. But there's always been this very difficult question then as to, what is the eastern border of nato, and how far do you go
