How much of to day's inequality is due to existing raceism, whether races to people or races policies? Is a genuinely difficult question to answer. To answer it, we need to distinguish the past from the present. Take wealth an equality for example. The median white family has a net worth of around a hundred and seventy thousand dollars. And this disparity in wealth persists even for people whose incomes are in the top ten per cent of the income distribution. For whites, in the top 10 per cent for income, the medium net worth is one point eight million dollars. For blacks, it's around three hundred fifty thousand dollars....
