The Fed's Purpose Is to Keep Inflation in Check

The Federal Reserve has a dual mandate and one of them is to keep inflation in check. The goal is full employment and stable prices, but right now it's very far from its goal. Whether or not the asset prices are high or low, I don't think that's in Powell's mind right now. That means hiking rates and potentially beyond what the market is priced in. If we get down to pre-COVID level where they're okay? We could go up to 10,000s back up to mid-11,000s. Rather than an equity investor, just fixed income investor, was torture for ages.
