The Logic of Suspicion

Psychoanalysis is necessarily iconoclastic, regardless of the faith or non-faith of the psycho-analysts. It's going to be suspicious and uncover some things that you'd rather not have uncovered. But this destruction of religion can be the counterpoint of a faith purified of all idolatry. The decision about these two possibilities does not rest with psychoanalysis.
