Is Mental Illness a Growing Crisis?

Mental illness is a growing crisis in the same ways that obesity and diabetes are growing crises mental disorders are growing crisis. They are now the leading cause of disability on the planet there, they're leading cause of disabled in the United States and on the planet. The World Health Organization estimated about 1 billion people on the planet, currently suffering from a mental or substance use disorder. In the United States, the rates are about one in 20 or, you know, or I'm sorry, one in five people 20% of the population will be affected by a mental or Substance Use Disorder any given year.
