What Was Your Religious Background Prior to Deconversion?

When he was in high school, Mark Whitaker had a born-again experience led by an evangelical fellow who ran a Youth for Christ club. He went off to Princeton Theological Seminary where he studied biblical studies but also theology and a number of other things. Eventually years later, after he was teaching at Chapel Hill, he started really questioning his faith. And so he considered himself agnostic and now I consider myself an agnostic and an atheist.
