What Brings Down the Neighborhood Like Graffiti?

There's an argument by religious conservatives that yes, you're consenting adults and doing your own thing pornography, prostitution, whatever, but it brings down the neighborhood. That would be one thing if there was unanimity on what values society want to do in brains. But unless there's a uniformity or unanimity of values, that approach doesn't work. So I'm sympathetic about people who feel that they're living in a culture that they're not comfortable in.
