The Early Jesus Movement

It's possible to make a reasonable claim that the Jesus movement understood that death was an option and it had to be interpreted in materialogical terms as having some kind of benefit. And again, I think this is partly because of the importance of John the Baptist. So these other analogies of social movements will include a popular figure prophet, in fact known as the Egyptian. This figure combined an expectation of supernatural divine intervention and an age to come with a violence aversion. Like John the Baptist, Theudis would eventually lose his head because he was deemed a sufficient threat by those in power.
