And it already compounded the messy situation created by high costs, heavy taxation and general recessionary conditions in the economy. But that's sort of technical analysis. What did the middle class professionals think about the prospects of the small car or the passenger car? The respectable middle class professionals dismissed the idea. Even in 1972 when the government had finally approved a small car manufacturing project.
