The Third Duma and the Russian Empire
The Third Duma was compromised of mostly ethnic Russians, who tended to be wealthier than comparable delegates that had sat in the earlier Dumas. Although this Duma was far more loyal to the crown, it was still not a puppet of the royal court and did not always give its cooperation to Nicholas and Stolipin. This fact notwithstanding, it sat its entire five-year term which created a degree of stability in government that had been lacking both during and immediately after the 1905 revolution. Despite this though, the roots of all the turmoil that had occurred still remained unaddressed.
