Education Is Already a Game

Education is already a game. It's a game we created over the top of a joyful activity. Learning is joyful. Just humans are hardwired, love to learn. And then society decided to drive it in a particular way. We added badges and points and leaderboards and GPS and other tests and TPA. We added all this machinery around joyful learning to drive behavior towards particular things. So there's a good education is a great game, but bad education is a terrible game.
