You Can't Quit the Cross
When you were younger, you told your dad that you wanted to quit playing la cross. He didn't know how to express his feelings about it but said he would back you up if this was a reasonable and rational choice. You ended up staying on the team for two more seasons before deciding not to play anymore. This is what we refer to as a 'real option' which means there's a cost in terms of my level of frustration.
