The President Doesn't Drive the Business Cycle
In the last 100 and 50 years, 97 % of america's war dead have occurred in four wars that generally were began or escalated under democratic presidents. If you get elected during a boom, there is an 83 % chance you will have a recession during during your term. So overall, presidents elected during recessions create three times as many jobs as presidents elected during booms. The president doesn't drive the business cycle. The business cycle drives who we elect president.
