The 2008 financial crash was a wake up call for many countries. The People's Bank of China said that we need to rethink the international financial institutions. This leads to China creating its own development banks and the BRICs bank. These are all very important because it shows the opening salvos of Bretton Woods III, or you could say post Bretton Woods.
