Angie's question: Why is pride in the modern reckoning even considered a sin? The Catholic Church didn't want anyone outside of a king or queen to think that they were better than anyone else. So when they say pride cometh before the fall I don't know that doesn't sound like it comes from the Bible. That’s from Proverbs. It actually goes pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Is pride an emotion? Where’s the line between self-esteem and hubris? And what does Stephen have against peacocks?
