Is There a Consistent Consistency in Reason?
I'm curious what you think of this, bet i' u in re watching that clip and thinking back to what he says in the book. There seems to be a tension between that view of reason as instrumental - it helps you do fine means ends kind of situations. And so one way this often comes up is when he's talking about different political actors at making certain argumentsa conspiracy theorists. He doesn't claim that there's something necessarily irrational about their goal. What he claims is that they are like us, and that they all want to live in peace and freedom and prosperity too.
