Kubrick's Singing in the Rain
Kubrick has a gift for finding scenes that stick with you, and this is a perfect example. He'd apparently filmed that scene for three days before they came up with a singing in the rain bit. Malcolm McDowell just started humming to himself between takes because he was kind of bored. It's completely the kind of joy of the dreuges and it's the male gaze. And again, it's that thing that you watch it and then you're absolutely appalled by what you've seen.
