"I think when we have become so invested in the idea that injury is legible, injury is shared, injury is this flat, shareable thing," she says. "It's like for so long for me, it's like I've always felt effectively like I can't go there, I can't buy into that, it doesn't feel right." She adds: "When you drop both that pressure to self-flagellate to find through injury or self-punishment and the justification or the ethical virtue for some sort of reverse politics, I just think it puts us in a place that is really relieving"
