The Gift of Counsel
We are directed by god, says thomas, who comprehends all things. This is done by the gift of counsel, through which a man is directed, as it were, by counsel received from god. Sometimes we don't even do that because we refuse to take counsel out of the recalcitrant, lingering pride that we've inherited from our first parents. It's the ift of the holy spirit that we receive with charitytha, which rectifies our imperfection in the face of the inherent fear and uncertainty in human deliberation. All those defects, the limits of finitude and fallenness area in no wise present in god. He's perfect.
