Studying African Literature in the UK
The colonial government decided that it needed to train a new class of loco people, locoalites, who could replace them and continue to do the work of civilization. So when i come back to this idea, at a certain point, you went and studied english literature,you went and studied the humanities. I mean, if you were african, because that was going to be how you learned the culture of europe. And this was part of the whole colonial mind set, right? It was ovly 12 a idea. The british did not have universities in africa or the cribeian until 19 forty nine after the war.
